Sire is Ursus Pagan; a male that was imported from Canada to Sweden in 2010. Dam is Ursus Brite; a female that was imported from Canada to Finland in 2009.

Our son got his name: Leevi and Kaisa's lastname changed from Partanen to Pakkanen.

3.9.2010 Bear hunting season

 It has been different kind of year concerning bears! There have been seen bears tnes of time and our dogs has had several bear situations.

Plotthound girl Brite has been volved over ten bear situations and is now going northern in Finland in bear hunting.

Also elkhounds has had nice bear situations. Maximus barked 2 hours momma bear and her two pups, and also our Juno barked them about 20 mnutes. The momma bear was so angry that Juno didn't had enough courage to bark longer in dark. Juno's sister Gaia barked the bear seen at the photo. Bear in that photo is about 150kg male.

Our first child was born in 28th of August 2010; a baby boy!

4.-6.6.2010 Vacation in Estonia
We went to Estonia for this lovely windy weekend to attend two dog shows with our elkhound girls. On Saturday there was Estonian Winner Dog Show and on Sunday Group 5 Specialty Show.

The judge at the Winner Show was bulgarian Kamen Litov.
Jada (Tuike Korven Jada) competed in Junior class and was Best Junior of Breed, got jun-CAC and finally was Reserve Best Female. She also got Estonian Junior Winner 2010 title!
Juno (Pakkalan Juno) unfortunately threw her coat off just before this show and this time her result was 3rd best female with Res-Cacib.

The judge at the Specialty Show was Kari Granaas Hansen from Norway.
Jada was again Best Junior of Breed and Reserve Best Female with Jun-CAC.
Juno got very good - so now back to home to grow back her coat before next shows!

6.4.2009 Greetings from Czechs!


Our vacation to Czech Republic is over!

We traveled to Czechs to meet Leo's (Yavanna's Kariya Cenhamn) and Camellia's (Camellia Brilante Davaroni) litter, puppies are now 8 weeks old.

We had a very pleasant trip. We got to know things about hunting in Czechs, which is quite different than in Finland. Also we had a chance to visit a shooting range near Blansko. We also visited in Moravian Karst, which is know about its caves.

Also we got a chance to meet Czechs english setters and their owners; it was interesting to meet liver belton english setter because that colour is really rare in Finland.

We want to thank kennel Davaroni's Lucie and Jirka for these really nice adventures!! You made our trip to Czechs really nice!

So our vacation was quite interesting and one of the most interesting things was, of course, to meet Leo's puppies. There were 2 males and 4 females in that litter and they are now going to live their new homes. We want to wish nice life to each puppy and we hope to hear of them in the future!



This litter is very international; these puppies will live in four different countries: in the USA, Czechs, Germany and Finland. Girl puppy Diorea Soma Davaroni traveled with us to Finland and we want to wish her a very welcome to her father's homeland!!

21.3.2010 Jason took part to English Setter of the Year 2009 competition

Jason (Set'r Ridge's Sensation at Cenhamn) did quite well at last year's English Setter of the Year competition, even if he was shown very limited. Jason was top winning English Setter in North Karelia and also best blue belton colored english setter in whole Finland :)


21.3.2010 Juno Best of Breed at Tampere International


We took part to Tampere International dog show with Juno. Elkhound judge was Juha Putkonen from Finland.

Juno did really well, she was Best of Breed with CAC and CACIB!!

13.3.2010 At the dog show with Leo and Juno


We took part to Polvijärvi national show with Leo and Juno. The day went quite well :)

Juno won her class and was Reserve Best Female with RES-CAC! The judge was Hannu Talvi from Finland.

Leo won his class, was Best Male with CAC and finally BOS! The judge was Riitta Lahtovaara from Finland.

7.3.2010 Juno at dog show


We took part to a dog show with Juno. Show was held in Kerimäki and the judge was Esko Salkonen from Finland. There were 26 elkhounds entried. Juno won her class with excellent and placed fourth in Best Bitch competition.

8.2.2010 Leo's and Camellia's puppies are born!


We are proud to announce that our Leo (Yavanna's Kariya Cenhamn) is a proud dad of six puppies! The happy mom is Camellia Brilanti Davaroni and breeder Lucie Skoupa from Czechs.

Puppies were born at 8th of February 2010, there are 2 boys and 4 girls. All blue belton.

6.2.2010 Juno at dog show


We took part to a dog show with Juno. Show was held in Eno and the judge was Sakari Poti from Finland. There were 46 elkhounds entried.

Juno won her class with excellent and placed third in Best Bitch competition.


23.1.2010 Happy New Year 2010!

So now is year 2010! We spent our last year playing with our young dogs. We got two new family members last year; elkhound girl Jada and plott girl Brite.

Jada got some nice experiences from the forest last fall already and one time she met an elk - and barked it :) This was nice achievement for such a young girl and next fall we continue from this.

Brite; our new import from Canada filled all expectations as a great bear hunting dog. During fall she made really nice workings for bears.

Our young elkhound female Juno made nice workings for elks and there were shoot two elks to her work. At the end of the year Juno attended to her first elkhound exam and got 1st prize from Open Class. Juno also showed that she is not only a good hunting dog but also a successful show dog; at the beginning of the year she was Best Elkhound Puppy at Finnish Elkhound Specialty Show and at the end of the year she got reserve CAC from big Nordic Winner Show.

Last year Brite came to our family from Canada


Setter males Leo & Jason became adult age during year and competed first time in Open Classes. Both boys got their first CAC during this year. In woods boys did some nice workings for birds and there were also shoot some birds for them. During a year Jason became a dad to two litters and also Leo met her first fiancee. Leo's litter will be born at February 2010.

So what there is to expect this year? Time will tell :) Our plan is to continue our hobbies with our dogs and you will see us some times in exams and shows. We have also puppy plans, but time will tell if they will come true this year or next year.
